ESA Services Available

Risk Analysis: New Federal standards and recommendations state that hybrid and electric vehicles that have been involved in a collision or water-related incident now require guidance from a high-voltage vehicle specialist.

The Energy Security Agency has met this need with our 24/7 Risk Analysis services. Anytime you are interacting with a hybrid or electric vehicle that has been involved in a collision, fire, mechanical failure, or water-related incident, call the ESA for guidance and required Risk Analysis at 1-855-372-7233 (1-855-ESA-SAFE).

During your call a Risk Analysis Agent (RAA) will perform an interactive vehicle assessment and provide details on safe interactions with the vehicle, performing primary and secondary shutdown procedures (if required), towing specifications, and storage requirements.

The RAA will determine the vehicle’s risk level – a level green, yellow or red – based on the analysis specifics and ask that you place the designated Risk Analysis Placard (RAP) or Risk Analysis Required Placard (RARP) sticker on the vehicle. This sticker allows you and others to later identify the vehicle's risk level for safe handling. To ensure liability mitigation and meet the current standards, every hybrid and electric vehicle requires a Risk Analysis to be conducted if it meets the criteria above.

OEMs: The Energy Security Agency creates emergency response guides for multiple OEMs as well as the current emergency response guide materials and in-depth training video regarding best practices for First and Second Responders interacting with Lucid vehicles. The ESA also maintains a safety support consulting relationship with Lucid to provide technical guidance and intervention for emergency events.

Collision and Automotive Service Industry: The Energy Security Agency provides xEV risk assessment, site assessment/emergency response planning, and training services for multiple nationwide collision centers. Clients include Spartan Group, Caliber Collision, Google Waymo, and Stellantis.

Recycling Industry: The Energy Security Agency serves as the primary lead for the development and delivery of xEV and Lithium-Ion Battery Safety training for ISRI (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries). This includes the development and operation of a state-of-the-art dismantling training center to provide scrap recyclers and auto dismantlers with proper training and certification in safe and compliant operations. The ESA also works closely with the supporting recycling and dismantling associations as well as specific recyclers such as Li-Cycle and Schnitzer Steel.

Emergency Services and Tow/Recovery: The Energy Security Agency provides Awareness, Operations, and Technician level training for the fire service and tow/recovery organizations, as well as a myriad of state-based entities across the country. Additionally, the ESA provides real-time support through our 24/7 call center to deliver safe and compliant handling and operational guidance when interacting with xEVs and BESS. This has included state-based oversight and interactions for major emergency events and natural disasters.

Incident Management: The Energy Security Agency has assumed operational command of major incidents through our call center and emergency support network to isolate, contain, and provide conclusive management of all battery-related materials. This requires close integration with the DOT, NTSB, and NHTSA as well as our environmental partners and battery recyclers.
