The FDNY and the FDNY Foundation proudly invite fire service and fire & life safety professionals to attend the 2026 FDNY High Rise Symposium (HRS) — a premier three-day educational event held in New York City, the High-Rise Capital of the World. Designed for Firefighters, Company and Chief Officers, Private Sector Fire & Life Safety Professionals, Property Management, Code Consultants, Fire & Life Safety Directors, and Building Engineering and Maintenance Personnel, the symposium offers advanced operational insight, real-world application, and direct engagement with leaders in high-rise firefighting and life safety.

Day 1 – Friday, October 23

Jacob Javits Center


A full day of expert-led lectures and case studies focused on high-rise operations and emerging challenges, including:

  • Buildings Under Construction

The day concludes with a networking reception at the Javits Center — an opportunity to connect directly with presenters and fellow professionals.

Day 2 – Saturday, October 24

Experience two premier high-rise facilities through guided site visits. Participants will rotate through operational stations at both locations, featuring:

  • Energy storage systems
  • Fire command centers
  • Fire pumps
  • Elevator systems
  • Building safety infrastructure
  • FDNY personnel and building professionals will provide operational insight from both emergency response and facility management perspectives.

The day concludes with a roundtable discussion with subject matter experts, providing an open forum for questions, operational dialogue, and shared best practices.

Day 3 – Sunday, October 25

FDNY Training Academy – “The Rock”


The final day will be held at the FDNY Training Academy, known as “The Rock.” The program includes:

  • Guided tours of the facility
  • An overview of first-due operations at a high-rise fire
  • Three-hour breakout sessions
    (pre-registration required)
  • Breakout topics will include:
    • Engine Operations
    • Truck Operations
    • Command and Control
    • Wind-Impacted Fires
    • And additional specialized topics

Transportation will be provided via bus from a designated meeting location to “The Rock” and returning to Manhattan.
